This is the official site for the Nordic LGBT Workplace Inclusion Network.  The network is comprised of individual professionals, entrepreneurs, organizations and companies interested in promoting an LGBT inclusive workforce.

The Nordic region can be proud of its innovative policies that have promoted equality through the years.  Now, it is time for the Nordics to take the lead again, this time in LGBT workplace inclusiveness.  As some have joked “we are all free to be exactly like our neighbor here”, we enjoy many freedoms but now we have to take this idea one step further to celebrate our differences and use them to our advantage.  Many protest that pointing out people’s differences gives rise to injustice but ignoring our differences can do just the same.  If we can promote an inclusive work atmosphere where each employee feels valued for their diverse strengths, we can create a more inclusive workforce and society.  Are you interested in learning more about how LGBT people experience work life in the Nordics?  If so, check out a recent study done by Q-Factor, on the status of the Danish LGBT Workplace.

The Nordic LGBT Workplace Inclusion Network is organizing the Nordic LGBT Workplace Forum & Career Fair™ to be held in Stockholm on the 2nd and 3rd of August 2012. The conference is targeting companies and organizations that want to take advantage of the strengths in having a diverse workplace. Many lesbians, gay men, bisexual and transpersons (LGBT persons) do not dare to be open about their sexual orientation or gender identity at work, this leads to worse well-being and thereby loss of productivity. By removing visible and invisible barriers, an organization can get among the preferred workplaces and thereby retain and attract the most talented employees.

The Nordic LGBT Career Fair™ takes place 2nd of August in connection with the conference. The purpose of the career fair is to give students, experienced professionals and other the opportunity to meet LGBT friendly employers.
